Course Withdrawal Application for Spring 2025

Application Period
March 31 - May 9, 2025 (The application system closes at 11:59 p.m. on May 9.)
*The application period for intensive courses is from “the first working day after the first class” to “the last working day before the last class.” 
*The application period for the courses offered by TAICA is March 31 - April 24, 2025.

How to Apply
Follow the steps below to start your online application:
1. Login to NTNU Portal.
2. Enter Academic System for Students/Information about Course Enrollment/Application for Course Withdrawal to submit your application online.

*All applications are reviewed online. For non-NTNU courses (including courses of NTU System), a letter of approval from the course instructor is required to upload.
*Students are allowed to cancel the submitted application while the application is in reviewing process. Applications which have been completed will not be able to withdraw. Please think twice before submitting your application.

Application Process
Students submitting the application onlineapproval of course instructor (a letter of approval from the instructor is required to upload for Non-NTNU courses)approval of academic advisor (only for students who apply to withdraw from courses over 3 credits)approval of department administratorapproval of department chair. 
*Please note that the approval process should be completed within the deadline. A grace period for completing approval process will be given until 05:00 p.m. on May 16. If the approval process is not completed before the time, it will be deemed that your course withdrawal application is not approved. 

Application Result
1. Please log in to Academic System for Students and check your course withdrawal records of the semester via Information About Course Enrollment/My Course Schedule three working days after the application deadline.
2. Courses withdrawn from shall remain on the student’s transcript with a “W” noted next to the course name. The student will receive no credit for the course, which shall not count towards the student’s total enrolled credits for the semester.

For Instructors, Academic Advisors, Department Administrators, and Department Chairs
Please login to NTNU Portal/Educational Administration Related System/Canceling Courses Authorization System and review the applications before the deadline. If the approval process is not completed within the deadline, the application will be deemed disapproved.

For Non-NTNU Students
1. NTU and NTUST students: Please follow the course withdrawal regulations of your school and apply to your school. The three universities will exchange the data. 
2. Non-NTNU students (refers to students besides NTU and NTUST students here): Please go to the Intercollegiate Course Selection Application System and apply for course withdrawal.

3. Course Enrollment and Auditing of Members of the Public: 
Please fill out NTNU Course Withdrawal Application Form for Enrolled/Audit Students, and submit it to the Curriculum Office after you obtain approval of the course instructor.
*Only paper application is available for course enrollment and auditing students to apply for course withdrawal.

Notifications
1. Please note that the approval process should be completed within the deadline. A grace period for completing approval process will be given until 05:00 p.m. on May 16. If the approval process is not completed before the time, it will be deemed that your course withdrawal application is not approved. 
2. A maximum of 3 credits may be withdrawn from per semester, however, in special circumstances and with the approval of the student’s academic advisor and the chair of the student’s department (graduate institute), this restriction shall not apply.
3. According to relevant regulations, if students withdraw from a course, any fees (course and miscellaneous fees) paid for the course shall not be refunded and any outstanding fees for the course shall require payment by the student.
