NTNU student ID cards are switching to new 4K student ID EasyCards starting 2023 academic year- Please click this link to see the FAQ and introduction for 4K student ID EasyCards.
- 2023 newly admitted freshmen should have received their 4K ID card after completing the health examination this semester, there is no need to get another one.
- Students who enrolled before 2023 academic year, will be issued a 4K ID card for free from now on, and the old ID card will not be asked to return. Please click here to see how to get your new 4K ID card from your department.
- Students will be asked to show their old ID card or a proof of enrollment/student's personal information in the NTNU app on a cellphone to verify their identity. Then a new 4K ID card will be issued to the students after they sign.
- After receiving the new 4K ID card, students will need to activate their card in the NTNU app on a cellphone before using it. The campus access of the old ID card will be deactivated immediately once the new ID card has activated. Please click here for the information of the activation instructions for 4K ID cards and the refund policy of the old ID cards.
- Considering the safety management of the campus, the campus access of old ID cards will be deactivated on March 1st, 2024. Please make sure to get your new 4K ID card before the deadline.
- Due to the system upgrading after switching to the 4K ID cards, all newly admitted and enrolled students will only be reissued a 4K ID card (centenary edition) in the future.
- Students who are on leave this semester (fall 2023) should go to the Registrar's Office on Main Campus or the Academic Affairs Office on Gongguan Campus to get their 4K ID card after March 1st, 2024.
- The campus security (access control) updates at 10:00 am, 3:00 pm and 1:00 am every day, and the time to update is about 30 minutes to 1 hour. If you activate your new ID card before the updates, the campus access of your old ID card will be deactivated after the updates, and the campus access of your new ID card will be activated. For example, if a student activates his new ID card at 11:00 am, the campus access of his old ID card is still valid until the next update time, 3:00 pm. However, the access will be switched to his new ID card after 3:00 pm.
- If your old ID card has added other features, such as monthly commuter pass, National Library card, or individual access control, those features will not switch to your new 4K ID card even you activate it. Please set them up separately.
