2025 Summer Session Course Selection Guidelines

Summer Session 1 (4 weeks) : June 23 - July 20, 2025
Summer Session 2 (4 weeks) : July 21 - August 17, 2025
Summer Session 1 & 2 (8 weeks) : June 23 - August 17, 2025

Course Information
The summer session course schedule has been announced on July 1, 2024. (please refer to the Course Information System for more course information)
NTNU Students
2.Course Selection: Students shall register courses in the Course Selection System. The System is open to students
from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 midnight during the course selection period.
3.Important Dates of Course Selection:
Course selection for summer session courses starts on May 22 , 2025 and ends on May 26, 2025. (Placement of courses are based on the order of preference.) Placement results will be announced at 5:00 p.m. on May 28, 2025. Please log in to NTNU Portal to check the results.
*The course placement for summer session course selection is based on the General Placement Principles which are
students with a higher response rate in the end-of-semester course evaluation surveys of the spring semester will
be given priority. If the course evaluation survey response rates are equal, seniors, third year master’s program
students and fourth year doctoral program students will be given priority.
*Students will be placed in one Teacher Education Program (TEP) course at most. Those who wish to take more than
one TEP courses may register for add-on during the add/drop period.
Course add/drop period (Course adding or dropping are instantly determined by the System during this period.):
May 29 - June 2, 2025 ( Session 1, Session 2 and Session 1 & 2 courses )
June 27 - July 1, 2025 (Session 2 courses only)
4.Credit Fees:
*If the number of academic credits is not equal to the number of class hours, credit fees will be charged
according to the number of class hours. For example, a 2-hour Physical Education course will charge for 2-hour
credit fees even the course only offers one credit.

*For 2025 summer session courses, the minimum enrollment required to offer a course has been temporarily
lowered. For regular courses (undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels), the threshold is adjusted to
7 students. For Common Core, General Education, and Teacher Education Program (TEP) courses, the threshold is
set at 10 students. Courses that do not meet the minimum enrollment will be reviewed and handled in accordance
with university procedures.
*Category of the courses is marked in the note column of individual courses in the Course Information System.
5.Payment Deadlines:
Session 1, Session 1&2: June 6 - June 10, 2025
Session 2: July 4 - July 7, 2025
6.Payment Instructions:
To pay your fees, you could pay with a credit card or through an ATM, or print out a Payment Form and bring it to one of the following places to complete your payment: (1)Post offices (2)CTBC Bank branches (3)Convenience stores.
You could print out your Payment Form from:

7.Course Withdrawal:
Students who have completed the payment of fees may apply for withdrawing from courses with instructors' approval. Applications should be submitted from the first working day after the first class to the last working day before the last class. For students who wish to apply for course withdrawal, please log in to the NTNU Portal/Educational administration related system/Academic Affairs Information System (Student Version)/Information about Course Enrollment/Application for Course Withdrawal. Please note that any fees (course and miscellaneous fees) paid for the course will not be refunded if students withdraw from a course. "The system handbook"
8.Students Enroll in Courses Offered by Other Universities:
Summer sessions are not regular semesters, NTNU students are not allowed to enroll in courses in other universities. However, students who meet one of the following conditions are exempted from this restriction:
(1)Graduating students who will be able to graduate after earning credits in the enrolled course
(2)Students who will be unable to continue their studies in the following semester unless they enroll in the course
(3)Students who enroll in courses of programs, minor or double major in NTU System Universities, and those
courses are offered in summer sessions.
Students shall complete and submit the Student Report Form and the Intercollegiate Course Selection Application Form (Log in to NTNU portal/Educational administration related system/Academic Affairs Information System (Student Version)/Information about Course Enrollment/Inter-University Course Registration Form). After the application is approved, students may start intercollegiate course selection. However, students who were not enrolled students in 2025 Spring semester are not included. Class times shall not conflict with those offered by NTNU. In cases of conflict, courses offered by NTNU shall take precedence and credits for conflicting courses taken in another university shall not be counted.
9.Intercollegiate Course Enrollment at NTU System Universities (NTU, NTUST and NTNU) During the 2025 Summer Session, intercollegiate course enrollment is open among the three universities. Students may register for courses not offered by NTNU. Student Report Form is no longer required, students may apply directly using the Intercollegiate Course Enrollment Application Form (Log in to NTNU portal/Educational administration related system/Academic Affairs Information System (Student Version)/Information about Course Enrollment/Inter-University Course Registration Form). (1)The number of students enrolled in a summer session course shall be based on the number of students that pay
course fees. The course shall be cancelled if the number of students does not meet the minimum number of
enrolled students standard.
(2)Students may enroll in up to 12 academic credits of summer session courses. Class times shall not conflict with
those offered by NTNU. In cases of conflict, courses offered by NTNU shall take precedence and credits for
conflicting courses taken in another university shall not be counted.
(3)Following the end of the course selection period, students shall pay all course fees in the specified time period
and attend class. Except in circumstances in which summer session courses are cancelled, students shall not be
able to drop from summer session courses or be refunded course fees. For those who do not pay the course
fees within the specified time period, their course registration will be automatically canceled.
(4)Students who have paid course fees in the specified time period may apply to withdraw from their courses.
However, any fees (course and miscellaneous fees) paid for the course will not be refunded.
(5)National Taiwan University Summer College:Students who wish to take general education courses could
register courses in NTU Summer College, applications for intercollegiate course selection will not be required.
Please check the credit transfer information and register the course in the NTU Summer College.
(6)Taiwan Advanced Placement (AP) Courses System:Freshmen who wish to take AP courses could check credit
transfer information and register the course in the System, applications for intercollegiate course selection will
not be required. For courses that are eligible for credit transfer, please apply to the Registry Office for credit
transfer in accordance with the relevant regulations after finishing the course.

Non-NTNU Students
*Teacher Education Program courses do not open for non-NTNU students to register as intercollegiate, course
enrollment, or auditing students. However, courses other than TEP courses are available for those students to
register as long as the course instructors approve them.
1.Application Period:
May 29 - June 2, 2025
June 30 - July 1, 2025 (Session 2 courses only)
2.Intercollegiate Course Selection:
Students should register courses and print out the application form in the Intercollegiate Course Selection Application System for Non-NTNU Students.
3.Course Enrollment/Auditing:
Only paper-based application is available for course enrollment/auditing students, please download the Application Form here.
4.Credit Fees:

*If the number of academic credits is not equal to the number of class hours, credit fees will be charged
according to the number of class hours. For example, a 2-hour Physical Education course will charge for 2-hour
credit fees even the course only gives one credit.
*The registry fee for course enrollment and auditing students is NT$200. This fee is non-refundable after course
selection process is completed.
*If the number of enrolled students is insufficient, the fees shall be charged regarding to the regulations of the
minimum number of enrolled students for summer session courses.
5.Payment Instructions:
If you are applying for intercollegiate courses, please go to the Intercollegiate Course Selection Application System for Non-NTNU Students and complete the online payment. Course enrollment or auditing students shall pay the fees in cash during the course selection process. Except in circumstances in which summer session courses are cancelled, students shall not be able to drop from summer session courses or be refunded course fees.
