- Please bring your student ID to the contest venue for check-in at 18:00 on the contest day. The contest will start promptly at 18:40
What is English Dubbing Contest？
The team must select a 3-4 minute clip from an English movie or TV series and perform live dubbing without playing the original audio. This tests their fluency in English speaking, accuracy, and teamwork.
Who can participate
- NTNU undergraduate students
- Non-native English speakers
- Non-English majors
- Only group registrations are allowed, with 2-3 members per group
- Each person can only participate in one group
Rules
Registration and Submission Requirements
- The video must be from an English TV series or movie.
- The video length must be between 3 to 4 minutes.
- Each participant must dub for at least 40 seconds.
- One person can play multiple roles.
- Dubbing lines must match the original lines.
- To Register the contest, please visit the " Dubbing Contest" page on the NTNU Foreign Language Section website, fill out the registration form, and attach a front image of your student ID.
- Send the role allocation table, English transcript, video clip timing (start to end time), episode number (if applicable), and a link to the 4-minute video (including original sound) in a PDF file to engpu.ntnu@gmail.com or upload directly on the registration form.

（Example：英語配音競賽_外文組與他們的產物_李乃蓉） - Ensure that the access link is properly enabled for the Foreign Language Education Division to download and review.
- Complete registration and submission by 2024/11/3 (Sun.) 23:59. Late submissions will not be accepted.
- The top 15 groups will be selected based on the completeness of registration materials and the difficulty of dubbing content if there are more than 15 groups.
Contest day
- Only the video image will be projected; all audio must be turned off.
- Participants may bring props to create sound effects on-site.
- Participants may use mobile devices to play background music but cannot use the original video's sound.
- The performance must not include inappropriate actions, words, or sound effects.
- Performance time must be between 3 to 4 minutes. Points will be deducted for every 30 seconds under or over the time limit.
- There will be no rehearsal time on the contest day, so practice thoroughly beforehand.
Judging Criteria
- Fluency and teamwork: 40%
- English pronunciation: 40%
- Voice performance: 20%
Prizes
- First Prize: NT$15,000 voucher and certificate
- Second Prize: NT$9,000 voucher and certificate
- Third Prize: NT$6,000 voucher and certificate
- Honorable Mention: NT$3,000 voucher and certificate
