What are the requirements for GE courses? How many GE units do I need in order to graduate?
-
Is there an upper limit to the number of GE units I can take in a semester?
At the present, there is no limit to the number of GE units per semester a student can take, but to maintain a balance of major courses and GE courses, and a quality of learning, we recommend students limit themselves to no more than 3 GE courses a semester.
-
Are there department restrictions on taking GE courses?
In general, there are no restrictions. However, for certain General Education courses, instructors may set limits to prevent students from taking courses that are too similar to those in their own departments, and thus restrict enrollment for specific majors.

Does NTNU accept transfer credits for GE courses?
NTNU currently has agreements with National Taiwan University (NTU), National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST), and Taipei Medical University (TMU) for GE coursework. Regular first year to fourth year undergraduates who take transfer courses are not required to pay course fees.
