What is Academic Presentation in English
The purpose of this competition is to cultivate students’ logical thinking and English oral communication skills, thereby enhancing their motivation and effectiveness in learning English. Participants are required to deliver a professional presentation supported by slides, using academic English that is both in-depth and accessible. They should also present their personal findings or viewpoints so that audiences from diverse academic and professional backgrounds can fully understand the content.

This year’s competition will focus on the development of science and technology. Through this event, we hope students will take this opportunity to use technology as a tool to engage more deeply with environmental and social issues.

Who can participate
  • NTNU undergraduate students (for individuals only)
  • Non-English majors
  • Non-native English speakers
Topics
The main theme for this year's competition is Science and Technology. Please read the passage below and formulate your own presentation title accordingly:
Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of Nvidia, once stated that AI itself will not eliminate jobs; rather, individuals who skillfully leverage AI will gain a competitive advantage and may take on new or existing roles. In essence, AI is transforming how we learn and how we work, and those who succeed will be the ones who know how to use it effectively.
In your three-minute academic presentation, you need to address all the following three questions:
  1. How do you integrate AI into your academic pursuits?
  2. How will AI transform the workplace in your chosen industry?
  3. What is the role of the humanities in the era of AI?
You also need to decide on the title of your presentation, which needs to appear on your first slide. In addition, your presentation should be well-structured, and your claims must be supported by statistics, tables, or charts, or findings from academic research.
