Guidelines for Implementation of Incentives

National Taiwan Normal University English Proficiency Test Subsidy Guidelines

Article 1

To encourage students to participate in English proficiency tests and improve their English language ability, National Taiwan Normal University (hereinafter referred to as “this University”) has prescribed these Guidelines.
Article 2 Recipients eligible for a subsidy shall include this University’s full-time undergraduate, master’s and PhD students currently studying in this University (first year students shall be eligible following their matriculation on August 1) who participate in one of the various proficiency tests in Article 3 and whose results reach the determined threshold for a subsidy.
Article 3 Subsidies as referred to in these Guidelines are limited to those for English proficiency tests. Score requirements and subsidy amounts for the participation in English proficiency tests by this University’s students can be found detailed in the Attachments to these Guidelines.
Article 4 Students may only receive one subsidy of this type across the duration of their study in this University.
Article 5 Application Process: Students should prepare a photocopy of their student ID, payment receipt for the proficiency test, and the cover of their bank passbook, as well as both an original and a copy of their proof of test score or test certificate, along with a completed application form. Applications should be submitted to the Office of Academic Affairs.
Article 6 These Guidelines, and any ensuing revisions, shall be publicly announced and implemented following its passage at a meeting of the Academic Affairs Committee.


 

Guidelines for Implementation of Incentives for Students of National Taiwan Normal University Enrolled in English Language Courses

Article 1
Eligibility: These guidelines are applicable to undergraduate and graduate students of National Taiwan Normal University enrolled in the daytime programs during their academic studies, starting from August 1st of the year they enrolled as new students. Such students are eligible to apply for the incentives specified in Section 3 of these guidelines, pertaining to the English language course series.
Article 2 Details of the incentives: 
a. The incentives outlined in these guidelines are limited to the series of courses in the English language proficiency examination approved by the Office of Academic Affairs of our university's continuing education program. 
b. The courses eligible for incentives are those listed in the "List of English Language Course Incentives for Students" attached herewith). 
c. The quantum of incentives per student is capped at NT$5,000, and there is no limit to the number of courses for which a student may apply for incentives. 
d. Applications must be submitted no later than the following semester after completing the courses; applications submitted after the deadline will not be entertained. 
e. The incentive items will be reviewed by the Foreign Language Education Division of the General Education Committee.
Article 3 Application Instructions: a. Required documents: (i) Application form for the English Language Course Incentives (Attachment 1). (ii) Original and photocopy of the student ID card (the original will be returned after verification). (iii) Original and photocopy of the course completion certificate (the original will be returned after verification). (iv) Evidence of payment of course fees. (v) Photocopy of the bank passbook cover.
Article 4 b. Application period: Applications for the 2nd semester of academic year 111 will be accepted from May 1 to May 31, 2022, and must be completed no later than the following semester after course completion. Late applications will not be entertained.
c. For example, if a course was taken in the 2nd semester of the 110 academic year, the application period for the incentive would be from the 2nd semester of the 110 academic year to the 1st semester of the 111 academic year.) 
d. Students wishing to apply for this incentive should prepare the aforementioned documents and submit them to the Foreign Language Education Division of the General Education Committee by the application deadline. (Location: Center for General Education, 2nd Floor of the Administration Building) 
e. Review results: The results of the previous semester's application will be announced at the end of December, and the results of the next semester's application will be announced at the end of June, on the website of the Foreign Language Education Division. The payment procedure will be completed within three months after the announcement of the review results, without further notice.
Article 5 Review and Funding Sources: 
a. The review of the incentive program will be conducted by the Foreign Language Education Division of the General Education Committee. 
b. The funding for this program is sourced from the "Bilingual Learning Program for College Students" of the Ministry of Education. 
c. The actual number of incentives and funding for each academic year will be determined by the annual budget. In case of a budget shortfall, the implementation of the incentive program may be suspended or the number of incentives and funding may be reduced. 
d. These guidelines will be implemented and revised after approval by the Academic Affairs Meeting of our university's administrative office.
